Jemaa el-Fnaa is the most recognizable square of Marrakech. It’s a huge theatre, where every day hundreds of people act in their own plays. Actors and bystanders are mixed together and often swap roles. This longstanding performance is to allow it’s perticipants to get anything required to survive another day. Money and being part of the community - always important, amusement - often, loot - only sometimes.

Above this stage there’s a minaret of Koutoubia mosque, indicating where the sun sets.
